Only if your builder asks you to. Some builders run their whole workflow through Build Margin; some just use it for variation approvals. Whatever works for the job.
The Tradie Portal sends an SMS when you get a new task or a variation needs approval. You can do most things by replying to the SMS without opening the portal at all.
Keep using it. Build Margin lets you upload the invoice you generate in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or anywhere else as a PDF or photo. You don't change your existing workflow.
SOPA payment claim nudges launched in Victoria first because that's where the legislation is most complex. NSW, QLD, and WA are coming through 2026.
